As we all know, I see things a bit differently from most folks, havin the True Sight an all. So Please, do not be alarmed if anything in this tale seems to differ from the events you may remember. It may be that the incident that I'm about to relate was too traumatic for the mind to recall. Also, sorry but I cant remember if it were Paddy or Tesh who witnessed the duel, sorry. I said True Sight, not a good memory. Oh yeah, also I cannae remember how ta spell his name, ack!

The Devil went down to Havensburg

Not long back, maybe two or three weeks ago, I met a feller what was gonna take the Lady Valeana out fer a couple honors and Tesh/Paddy fer some armor. I happened to be around, an not bein one ta turn down a good adventure, I jumped at the chance to join'em. In fact the feller was nice enough ta say he'd git me some nice armor too!

Lady Valeana was makin her way quickly through the courtyard when she spied me starin at me bow, I do that ever once in a while, heck, I even talk to it. Hey! It saved me life plenty-o-times, I could at least be nice enough to give it a bit of me time, it gits bored when not in use.

Anyway, she said she was headin out fer some fun and asked if I'd like to join. Well, me bow quivered, really, that was all I needed, sides the stables were clean, Legend was happy fer a change, and I was bored. No brainer, I HEARD THAT!

I follered as we headed fer the west gate of Havensburg. The excitement was building as we awaited our guide. When he finally arrived I was introduced to him, his name was Obfuscate. A big feller who I found out real quick donnae like ta be bowed too, hey, I do remember he was a Rogue, got one fact correct.

After the growlin stopped I agreed not to bow anymore than necessary, and he agreed to let me live, at least in the Lady's presence. I knew we were gonna hit it off right away.

First place we went was to Vernon proper. Believe it or not we went into the crypt outside of Shamrocks house! Now I've fallen in there on quite a few occasions, not a place fer the living, fer some reason, Obfuscate was right at home there, oh well, we killed eveything there and Paddy/Tesh got a wonderful set of armor fer the deal, deal, hmmm. Anyways, we immediately left cause the critters were returning from wherever it is that critters go when they aint here.

Next stop was a tower, that by the way I've been lookin fer ever since! Well this unfound tower had some critter in it that was mighty big an powerful, but the mighty Obfuscate paralyzed'em and we went into his tower. There the Lady kilt the feller dead. Apparently she didnt know how powerful she really was, cause when she was done she felt like she'd gathered a might more then the usual amount of experience from that fight.

Anyways, Obfuscate grinned a rather odd lookin grin an told the Lady to search the dead, she'd find two Honor Items, pink stuff as I remember, anyway, he turned to me with that grin again, take the armor, it yers, free, no catch!

Now I should known somethin was up, cause this was really nice armor, Sarmatian! I took it of course, I dinnae wanna dishonor the leader of the expedition. Anyways, we all headed out, cause, well the feller what was dead, he was comin back alive! Dontcha hate that, folks what wont stay dead, go figure!

Well, once at a safe distance, I decided to try on the new armor, and wouldnt ya know it, it actually talked! "I dont fit you!"

Now of course this was not good, not the talkin part, hey, me bow talks, why not armor, no, it was the not fittin part. Bummer.

I found Obfuscate pretty quick, he was right there, hmmm, figured he'da been far away by now, but there he was.

"It donnae fit." I told him as he asked where it was.

"Oh." he grinned. "Want some more, some that'll fit ya reallll good?"

"Ah, sure." I said noticin his grin again, could it possibly git any bigger?!

"No problem, it'll cost ya though." he said to me.

"I aint got much but yer welcome to it." I said truthfully, me bank account was about empty.

"No money. I'll take yer soul." he said laughin out loud now.

I started laughin nervously, "Sorry, me soul belongs to KoRT."

My answer was a most wicked laugh. The light seemed to fade as his eyes began to take over the world, that is until the Lady Valeana appeared outta nowhere.

"He correct, he's ours!" She said smilin.

"Too late, he took the armor." he grinned.

I was a bit taken back, no, not to the manufacturer, pay attention! I was scared! This feller seemed like, well you know, the other dude.

I calmed a bit when the Lady looked my way and gave me a wink as if she did this every day! If she does what follows every day, Giant, you better read the job description before ya try fer that position!

She tossed her shield to me and pulled her sword out and flashed it in a figure eight and pointed the tip down at the floor.

Obfuscate did the same, now there I was holdin two shields and watchin a duel fer me soul, and they werent even hittin each other!

Now, Obfuscate didnt do the same figure eight, he did a figure six, three time of course!

Then it was the Lady's turn, then his, and over and over this went on fer what seemed hours!

The whole while they got faster an faster, gittin more intricate with the strokes an parries, and whatever the fancy stuff was called I dont know, but they apparently did cause they was doin it!

Obfuscate was sweatin an the Lady, well she looked like she just woke from a nice sleep, Ladies, her hair dont git mussed when she sleeps! Just thought ya oughts know.

Anyways. I like to say that a lot dont I? Hmmm. well anyways, It looked like he was gittin desperate, cause he was offerin her stuff now! But the Lady just smiled, "No thankyou dear, I'm fine."

The pace was so fast I can hardly see the swords now, but the breeze sure felt good, it seemed to be a might hot around this feller.

He faltered finally! The Lady said he could have another try! Now I'm all fer givin a feller a even break, but this was my soul, I really thought that was unnecessary! He had his chance and he messed it up. As luck would have it, or his lack of it, he failed again.

He stopped and put his sword away. He wiped the sweat from his brow and smiling said "Next time."

I handed him his shield. He thanked me and smiled that smile again. I shivered as he sank into the floor!

I was about to, I dont know, scream or somethin when the Lady asked fer her shield. I handed it to her shaking still. She just smiled and said that was fun.

"Fun? If you say so M'Lady."

As she prepared to leave she turned to me again and with a grin as big as Obfucate's had been, "You belong to me now."

Gulp.

She smiled again and was out the door sayin somethin about how wonderful a day it had been, and that we really must do this again.

I think not!
